Mahila Shakti Kendra works to empower those experiencing socio-economic disadvantage, especially women, to bring about social change. This project aims to improve the livelihoods of people living in the Balipara Reserve Forest by introducing natural resource management models, introducing sustainable livelihood activities and by helping individuals to access rights and entitlements.

Easing the strain of migrating tribal labour – Phase 2
Kotra Adivasi Sansthan
Kotra Adivasi Sansthan provides development services and support to tribal communities in the remote parts of Udaipur and Sirohi districts. This project aims to support people who migrate to work in small industrial towns in western Rajasthan. The second phase of this grant will fund work to strengthen labour and trade collectives and to improve working conditions as well as access to legal aid, training and other services.

Working with women labour in the city of Udaipur and the adjoining towns – Phase 2
Jan Daksha Trust
Jan Daksha Trust is dedicated to improving the lives of women workers who have migrated to the city of Udaipur. This project supports women to access services and legal support. This second phase of funding will continue these efforts and go towards strengthening and developing the capacity of existing women’s collectives to improve livelihoods.

Jai Bharati Shiksha Kendra
Jai Bharati Shiksha Kendra (JBSK) supports tribal communities to help them access suitable livelihoods through management of natural resources. This final phase of support builds on their work to collectivise members of tribal communities at the village, cluster and block levels to foster community based management and development of land. JBSK will further develop their agenda to focus on institutional strengthening, empowering women and livelihood enhancement.

Holistic Action Research and Development works to strengthen panchayats, empower women and improve livelihood opportunities. This grant will support the final phase of a project to improve livelihoods and food security by building the capacity of tribal communities groups.

Dignity and Entitlements for Labour in Central Rajasthan – 2
Grameen and Samajik Vikas Sanstha (GSVS)
During their phase one grant, GSVS set up two labour centres in central Rajasthan to support mine and construction workers to access their rights and advocate for improved working conditions. This second phase grant will support GSVS to continue to build their knowledge base and apply various solutions to make work spaces safer for operations and replicate good practice on other sites.

Empowerment of women in Sabar tribes to access their rights and entitlements – Phase 3
Ekta Parishad Trust
Through this project, Ekta Parishad Trust (EPT) has supported and empowered women from the Sabar tribal community to set up a women’s collective. This new organisation has successfully worked to help local women access education, rights and entitlements; participate in governance; and build sustainable livelihoods. This final phase of funding will support the federation of the group and strengthen education and livelihood interventions.

DiYA Foundation works to support communities experiencing marginalisation to access education, livelihood opportunities, rights, resources and information. This projects aims to build the confidence and capacity of women in rural areas to rear livestock, enhancing the financial resilience of households experiencing economic disadvantage.

Strengthening weaver communities through formation of producer companies
Chitrika
An artisan support organisation, Chitrika works to collectivise groups of weavers in Andhra Pradesh into producer companies, providing links to markets and finance, and integrated services to weavers and ancillary workers. This grant will help Chitrika to expand their work in Telangana state.

Employability and skill enhancement (EASE) of people with disabilities (PwDs) – Phase 2
Aamhi Aamachya Arogya Sathi (AAA)
Amhi Amchya Arogyasathi (AAA) works to build the capacity of communities experiencing marginalisation. This initiative supports disabled people in Nagpur and Vidarbha to increase their skills and employability and to access relevant resources and information. The second phase of funding will enable AAA to strengthen their training and job placement initiative in partnership with the Youth 4 Jobs Foundation.

Supporting the inclusion of people with mental health problems and psychosocial disabilities in Madhya-Pradesh and Chhattisgarh
Bapu Trust for Research on Mind & Discourse
Bapu Trust’s Urban Mental Health and Inclusion Programme (UCMHI) works in areas experiencing disadvantage in Pune to create inclusive environments for disabled people and those living with mental health problems. Through this grant, Bapu Trust plans to scale this programme and extend it to Madhya-Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
