Art Against Knives (AAK) provides early intervention to prevent young people from becoming victims or perpetrators of violent crime. The charity’s new 3‑year strategy centres plans to reinforce core infrastructure. This will drive organisational development and empower young people to affect change in systems that make them vulnerable, and lead on building their own positive futures. This grant provides funding for key personnel to provide vital operational support in people management, grant management and impact monitoring. It also enables the CEO to focus on strategic partnerships to grow the Young Leaders model.

Revoke is a grassroots organisation advocating for the rights and welfare of underserved young people, particularly refugees, asylum seekers, and those in the care system. This grant will support the organisation to provide exceptional wellbeing support to staff and young people.

Asylum Support Appeals Project (ASAP) aims to reduce destitution by protecting the legal rights to food and shelter of those seeking asylum. They provide free legal representation for those appealing against a refusal of asylum support, and train organisations in asylum support law. With this grant ASAP will strengthen civic participation through convening people with lived experience of asylum support, the refugee sector and the advice sector to influence key immigration policies, improve access to support services and advocate for greater access to support.

Act Build Change support people and organisations to grow, build power and take action. They do this through their website, 1‑to‑1 coaching and workshops. This grant provides additional support for the organisation to provide wellbeing support to staff and cover emergency staffing needs.

You Be You empower children to learn about themselves, and celebrate diversity and inclusion through the power of art. This grant supports You Be You to grow and develop its arts-based offer alongside its well-established anti-oppression training and support for primary schools. This two-year project sees artists work with teachers and pupils across Bradford, Birmingham and London to positively impact school communities and uplift individuals facing social stigmas or discrimination.

West of Scotland Development Education Centre (WOSDEC) is a third sector organisation, providing quality professional learning in Global Citizenship to teachers in the West of Scotland. This grant contributes to their plans to work with Active Inquiry, a participatory arts/​theatre company based in Edinburgh. Working collaboratively with teachers in six primary schools, they want to develop WOSDEC’s drama-based Global Storylines approach by using Theatre of the Oppressed techniques. The project aims to increase children’s sense of agency over their own learning and lives, and engage with global citizenship education, whilst also supporting schools to achieve their curriculum and improvement priorities.

Music and Dance Education (MADE) provides stimulating creative arts provocations in partnership with early years settings/​schools, youth, community groups and healthcare settings. Feeling Good provides exciting and creative music, dance, drama, and art practice to schools across Cornwall. Working deeply with teachers, teaching assistants and pupils its play-based artistic processes will bring a focused approach to arts in the curriculum building confidence, creativity, and helping to develop mental wellbeing, to improve learning outcomes for this cohort of Cornish pupils.

Fresh Arts provide arts education for children of all ages. They are committed to widening participation in the arts. The Bounce Drama Project boosts the knowledge and skills relating to mental health and well being of children in Years 3 and 4, through drama-based practice. In the second phase of development, Fresh Arts will be developing the model, through co-construction with a group of London primary schools, to support children in all primary school year groups.

Creative Futures transforms the lives of vulnerable children and young people through high quality targeted arts programmes. Creative Futures will work with London Early Years Foundation (LEYF) nurseries to train Early Years Educators coming through LEYF’s apprenticeship and degree courses. The programme will support the development of creative, music-based practice, which will be geared particularly to helping young children progress in their Speech, Language and Communication skills and Social Emotional learning, as well as their music making and creativity.

Cap-a-Pie is a theatre company that inspires thinking and learning, bringing people together in a democratic creative process. Cap-a-Pie will work with children and young people attending schools in the East of Newcastle, and their teachers, to access in-depth nuanced understanding of complex material from different perspectives. Work will also support speaking and listening skills and activate critical thinking skills; this will enable greater engagement and progress with learning.

University of Atypical for Arts and Disability is a disabled-led sectoral arts organisation. This grant provides core costs and programme costs to enable them to deliver their strategic plan for 2023–28, including developing the Ledger Studio as a performing arts space and hub for D/​deaf, disabled and neurodiverse communities, and expanding its Arts Access and Disability Awards supporting best practice in inclusivity across ~30 arts organisations in Northern Ireland.

The Showroom is a contemporary art space focused on collaborative approaches to cultural production within its locality and beyond. This grant will enable The Showroom to recruit a full time Community Engagement Curator, to commission local artists for a mural on their building, and to facilitate action-research exploring their role in the community and thematic focus.
