Both organisations will share and learn from each other and facilitate a robust evaluation process, enabling them to extend the reach and impact.

    National Criminal Justice Arts Alliance will lead a partnership of arts organisations and the University of Cambridge’s Institute of Criminology to deliver a three-year programme of arts in criminal justice settings. Through a collective approach and long-term follow up, it aims analyse why and how arts interventions impact the lives of participants.

  • Explore and Test: Three Minute Heroes – Mental Health & Music Project

    Three Minute Heroes links the writing of young people aged 11–25 about their mental health to singers/​musicians and performance poets, who then set these words to music and perform them. The Warren plans to evaluate the impact of this project to understand its effect on participants and explore the potential for social franchise.

  • Addressing metal health issues of the students studying in Kota, Rajasthan

    Through this grant, Vishakha will set up a youth resource centre to deliver mental health support, recreational activities and counselling to young people attending coaching institutes in Kota. The project will also focus on working with city authorities, police and child welfare committees to raise awareness of the pressures faced by this group of young adults.

  • Inclusive development of children with disabilities – Phase 4

    Vikash specialises in the community based rehabilitation of disabled children. This project aims to improve the quality of life for disabled children by increasing access to inclusive education and government entitlements and by creating a network of parent support groups. This final phase of this grant will focus on teacher training, strengthening parent groups and commissioning child friendly, assistive devices. Vikash aims to consolidate their model of rehabilitation and share learning with a view to scaling and replication.

  • Natural resource based sustainable livelihoods – Phase 2

    Vidarbha Nature Conservation Society (VCNS) works to build community infrastructure and supports residents to access their rights, participate in governance and to secure livelihoods. In the first phase of this grant, VCNS helped ten villages to conserve and manage forest resources, to create management development plans and set up a series of livelihood initiatives. In the second phase of this grant, VCNS will work to strengthen local institutions, enhance the capacity of local leaders and to increase livelihood security.

  • Empowerment of women waste pickers in Buldhana and Warda, Maharashtra – Phase 3

    Stree Mukti Sangathan (SMS) has worked with women engaged in waste picking in Mumbai to create sustainable models of waste management and to improve livelihoods and working conditions. During the first two phases of funding they also raised and addressed issues related to occupational hazards and established health camps for workers. The third phase of the project will work to ensure that waste pickers’ are recognised as an occupational group, to develop infrastructure to help individuals benefit from the sale of recyclables and to support an educational outreach programme aimed at enrolling children in school.
