Acta engages people from communities experiencing marginalisation in Bristol in the creation and performance of their own original theatre. This request builds on the organisation’s work to improve workforce diversity, increase participation and share learning.

Through this grant, Hallé will test the effectiveness of different methods of engaging community members living with dementia. This project aims to better understand the impact of four variables: location of provision, scale of ensemble and performance, types of engagement and which methods are best suited to different stages of diagnosis.

Fotonow is a Plymouth-based media social enterprise, specialising in community focused photographic and film projects. This grant will support the organisation to train local young people experiencing disadvantage to use digital media and to explore the barriers to arts participation that they face in Plymouth through a participatory action research model.

Forced Entertainment is an experimental theatre company based in Sheffield. This grant will support the company to refine and evaluate a participatory approach for creating new performances with young people in Sheffield, via the delivery of three longer-term projects in partnership with local community organisations.

Duckie devises arts projects and creative events for audience-specific groups united by an identity, subculture, problem or situation. Through this grant Duckie will refine and evaluate a programme designed specifically for young queer, transgender and intersex people of colour from working class backgrounds in London to develop confidence, creativity and a sense of belonging.

Cap-a-Pie is a theatre company that inspires thinking and learning, bringing people together in a democratic creative process. Through this grant the theatre will create and deliver Cracking Cholera, a theatre-based cross-curricular learning programme, for eight classes of Year 6 pupils at primary schools in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, supported by a programme of continuing professional development for teachers.

Bold Tendencies, based in a multi-storey carpark in Peckham, deliver a summer public programme on-site between May and September each year. Focusing on its free engagement work with children, as part of is ​‘Education Community and Play’ offer, Bold Tendencies will explore and refining ways to widen their reach locally, including new recruitment methods and establishing a comprehensive evaluation framework to evidence impact.

Through this grant Angharad and Phil Wolsey will investigate the feasibility of developing an agricultural traineeship programme that brings together landowners, young people who are not in education, employment or training, and employers in South Wales.

The Critics’ Club is a cultural programme empowering young people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds to engage with theatre and art. The programme is designed to boost young people’s cultural capital, cultural knowledge and sense of belonging to cultural spaces, whilst developing their creativity, critical thinking and written skills.

This grant will support the development of an employment agency for disabled people that uses a job share model to balance limits to employees’ working hours and employers’ needs.

Emily Banks is working to create a leading recruitment agency for autistic adults, Stack Recruitment, whose mission will be to help autistic adults find, gain and retain meaningful employment. Stack will do this through the creation of an innovative and accessible jobs board. The jobs board will provide a simple and effective way for autistic individuals to find and apply for jobs from our partnered employers, and using technology reduce the anxiety that autistic adults often face with traditional recruitment methods.

This grant will support ReFrame Collective to co-produce projects with birth parents who have become involved with child protection services and to raise awareness of inequalities in the child protection system.
