Olivia Gable

Olivia is a Social Policy and Research Analyst, supporting the development of our Kinship programme.
Olivia is a sociologist by training and has a research background in creative industries, insecure and precarious work, and inequality in work and employment. She is especially interested in creative, participatory methods and storytelling approaches that shift power, and in 2021 she received a New Scholar’s grant from Bristol+Bath Creative R+D Cluster to develop these skills.
Before joining the Foundation, Olivia spent four years at the Work Foundation at Lancaster University. There she co-authored key reports on social mobility for the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre (PEC) and led developmental research for a work strand on insecure work. Olivia has also been a freelance consultant for music charities and social enterprises.
She has a PhD in Sociology from Open University and an MA in Cultural and Creative Industries from King’s College London.
